The Künstlersozialkasse (KSK) may subsidize qualifying social-insurance contributions for certain self-employed artists and journalists in Germany. Eligibility, contribution basis, effective dates and any subsidy depend on the activity, income, residence, insurance arrangements and current rules. KSK decides each application; a particular approval or savings amount is not guaranteed.
Musicians, visual artists, photographers, writers, designers, journalists and content creators may wish to check whether their actual work meets KSK's requirements. Job title alone does not establish eligibility, and nationality or living in Germany alone does not guarantee it.
Documents KSK requests vary by activity and case and may include a work description, portfolio, invoices, contracts or income estimates. Processing times and decisions are set by KSK and can vary. See contact TWO.TAX to discuss a scoped review.
